<b>ROANOKE RAPIDS</b> — A horrible accident in Halifax County has left a 7-year-old girl dead.

Sheriff's deputies tell WRAL Natasha Powell was removing a shotgun from  its storage place inside her home Friday night when it went off, killing her daughter.

Powell lives on State Power Road in Roanoke Rapids.  The gun belongs to the little girl's father.  No word yet on whether charges will be filed.
