RALEIGH — UNC basketball player Makhtar Ndiaye has been charged with communicating a threat and simple assault following an altercation Saturday afternoon in Raleigh.
Police say Ndiaye was traveling with an acquaintance, 26-year old Daniel Lewis Murdock of Chapel Hill, along Rock Quarry Road when a verbal confrontation became a physical one outside the car they were driving in.
Murdock says Ndiaye choked and threatened him. On Sunday, police served a summons on Ndiaye. He's scheduled to appear in District Court on June 23.
