CLEVELAND, OHIO — Duke fans are still waiting to see if women's basketball Coach Gail Goestenkors will leave the Bull City for the Lone Star state.
But on Monday, the focus was on Goestenkors for another reason, as she received the WBCA National Coach of the Year award in Cleveland.

Coach G wasn't the only North Carolina coach honored, as North Carolina State coach Kay Yow was also recognized. Goestenkors spoke about the emotional ceremony.

"I think it's what women's basketball is all about,” she said. “It's about emotions. It's not about facts and figures."

Goestenkors said she still hasn't decided whether she'll stay at Duke or move on to the University of Texas. Duke has made a counter-offer to Goestenkors, who sources say is having a difficult time with the decision on whether to stay or leave a program she's built into one of the best in the country.
