Lumberton Clerk Wounded During Robbery Dies

LUMBERTON — A clerk who was shot in the back of the head Sunday morning during the robbery of a Lumberton convenience store has died from her injuries.

Julie Stehlik was airlifted to Duke Medical Center after the shooting, where she was remained in critical condition until Monday.

The shooting took place about 5 a.m. at Spinx Oil Company's store at 1302 Roberts Avenue.

Officials said money was found nearby in an open field.
