Authorities Now Tightlipped In Lee County Kidnapping Investigation

Posted Updated

SANFORD, N.C. — Detectives investigating the alleged kidnapping of a Lee County woman turned their attention to the victim's home Tuesday.

Meanwhile, investigators are refusing to publicly comment on the case, just one day after they asked for the media's help in locating 23-year-old Julie Bullard.

Witnesses said a masked gunman snatched Bullard from a residence in Lee County early Monday morning while hanging out with friends.

According to authorities, the gunman tied everyone up and left with Bullard. They said there is no indication that any of the victims knew the masked man.

Search crews from Lee, Harnett and Moore counties combed through fields Monday and divers also checked a nearby pond, but there was no sign of Bullard.

Bullard's father said he would not rest until his daughter was found. He formed a private search group Monday night with friends and family to keep looking for her.

Bullard stands at 5-feet 2-inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Bullard's whereabouts is asked to contact local authorities immediately.
