RALEIGH — The owner of an unlicensed day care center where a child died last year was sentenced to a little over a year in prison Thursday.

Last August, Tracy Stidham pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

Police say she was running errands when Bailey Tippett died in her Raleigh home.

Another child, who was also in Stidham's care, faces a charge of voluntary manslaughter.
