Raleigh Man Suspected of Child Abuse Turns Self In

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Raleigh Police now have in custody a man they say abused the 4-year-old daughter of his girlfriend.

Detectives say 26-year-old Frederick Rouse, whom they wanted on charges of felony child abuse and parole violations, was brought to the police station at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday by a family member.

Police say he attacked the child within the last few days, and they have been looking for him ever since.

A daycare worker at the North Hills Child Care Center noticed bruises and other injuries on the girl's body Thursday and called 911. The child was taken to Wake Medical Center for examination where she underwent emergency surgery and is in stable condition.
