Three Killed in Lumberton Accident

LUMBERTON — Three people died Tuesday morning after their car crashed into a canal in Robeson County. A state trooper says the driver lost control coming around a curve on Barker Ten Mile Road.
The car flipped and landed upside down in the canal where much of it was submerged.
The victims have been identified as 39-year old Maria Torres, 28-year old Caludia Corona, who was driving the car, and her 3-year old daughter, Vanessa.
All three were residents of Lumberton.
