Yelverton Faces First Court Appearance

Yelverton, 18, was arrested Tuesday on an unrelated violation, and charged with the murder of Molly Ellis Friday. (WRAL-TV5 News)
FREMONT — Tyrone Yelverton, 18, made his first appearance in Wayne County court Monday.

The court will appoint an attorney for him. Yelverton is still being held without bond, charged with first degree murder in last week's strangulation death of Mollie Ellis.

Ellis was the mother of a retired Wayne County judge.
