— Stray animals in Wake County have a new halfway house to call home. This month the county opened its new animal control facility and shelter on Beacon Lake Road off Highway 64.

The 18,000 square foot building will hold twice as many dogs and three times as many cats.

Organizers say unlike the old shelter is completely enclosed.
