DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man now faces civil charges for a crash that killed an unborn child.
Chieh Hsu is accused of letting his 14-year-old daughter drive a car that collided with a minivan near N-C 54 and I-40 in February. Rolesha Harris' baby was delivered by caesarean section, but died shortly after.
In November, Hsu was acquitted on a criminal charge he helped cause the death. Harris is also suing Daimler Chysler Corporation and Elkins Motor Company of Durham, claiming a seatbelt in the van was defective.
