Judge Evelyn Hill Presiding In Court
RALEIGH, N.C. — An embattled Wake County judge is stepping down.

Judge Evelyn Hill turned in her resignation Friday to Gov. Mike Easley. It's effective at the end of January.

Judge Hill has been censured twice for her conduct on the bench.

She's currently under investigation for more misbehavior.

If Hill had not stepped down, the state's judicial standards commission could have recommended firing her.
