Another Cary Business Hit By Smash-And-Grab Burglars

CARY, N.C. — The case against a couple of crooks breaking into businesses in Cary is growing.
A pair of smash and grab thieves struck Thursday, targeting Brook Mays Music Co. on Walnut Street. Authorities say they believe they saw the suspects casing the store, but the suspects were able to escape.
Authorities say the thieves had targeted the store before. Police say on four separate occassions. Twice, police say the suspects stole keyboards and they came away empty-handed the other two times.
In each of the burglaries, police say the thieves have used a rock-like object to break out the front door and enter the business. The suspects have stolen cash, hardware, cookies and jewelry.
The suspects are believed to have burglarized a number of Cary businesses, including Dollar General, Brooklyn Boy's Pizzeria, Book Smart, Womack Electric Supply Company, Cookies in Bloom, Grace by Consignment, Cary General, Harmony Mediterranean Market, Vertical Urge, Flame Kissed Beads, Gymboree, QuikDrop, Woody's Sports Tavern & Grill and Maximillian's Grill & Wine Bar.
Police believe the pair may be targeting other towns besides Cary. They said they have been three smash-and-grab incidents in Apex.
Cary police say the suspects are described as white males between the ages of 20 and 29, about 6 feet tall with slim builds. According to surveillance video taken at one of the businesses, they were wearing ball caps, black sweatshirts and blue jeans.
