GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A Wayne County man was arrested on child sex abuse charges stemming from approximately two to three years ago, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Roderic B. Thompson, 29, of Goldsboro, was charged with a first-degree sex offense with a child.

Investigators said they received a report Monday from the mother of three juveniles who had just learned they were allegedly sexually assaulted. Authorities said the victims were family members of Thompson, but did not specify exactly how they were related.

Thompson's bond was set at $75,000. Additional indictments were expected.
