Selma Authorities Involved In Saturday Morning Chase

SELMA, N.C. — A 19-year-old man is in jail after leading authorities on a chase in Johnston County.

Authorities say the chase occurred around 5 a.m. Saturday between Selma and Micro. During the chase, Timothy Michael Sauls lost control of his vehicle. His Ford Explorer ran into a ditch and flipped several times.

Sauls later jumped out of his vehicle and ran into a nearby wooded area. He was later arrested by authorities.

The Highway Patrol has charged Sauls with careless and reckless driving. Sauls has two upcoming court dates in Johnston County for speeding and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
