Inmate With Durham Ties Escapes From Forsyth Prison

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities need your help in the search of an escaped inmate.

State Department of Correction officials said 41-year-old Jean Rinehart escaped from Forsyth Correctional Center in Winston-Salem around 8 p.m. Thursday.

Rinehart was serving almost five years in prison for multiple breaking and entering and larceny convictions. He was convicted in November 2004 in Durham County.

He is described as a white male. His face is clean-shaven and he now has a shaved head.

He may be attempting to travel to the Durham area or to Illinois. If you have any information about his whereabouts, you are asked to call 911 or call the Forsyth Correctional Center at
