GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A hog truck that flipped on its side tied up traffic on Highway 13 north of Goldsboro Wednesday morning.

The wreck, which happened at 7:40 a.m., occurred when a car traveling south on Highway 13 was hit by the northbound truck while the car was trying to make a left turn.

Michael Simpson, 33, the driver of the hog truck, was charged with failure to reduce speed, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.

There were no injuries.

The hogs were loaded from the wrecked truck to another hog truck.

The wreck should be cleaned up and the road completely reopened by 3 p.m, authorities said.
