RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police said Saturday a local restaurant is not a trouble spot, despite two shootings near the restaurant in the past few months.

A man was shot Friday night near La Rosa Linda's restaurant on

New Bern Avenue

. The man's injuries were not life-threatening.

Police arrested two suspects in the shooting, but they have not released any additional information about the incident.

In August, Michelle Peele, a Raleigh police officer, shot a man who was attempting to steal her personal vehicle while she was working as an off-duty security guard at the restaurant, police said.

The man, 42-year-old Nyles Arrington, later died at WakeMed.

Peele was placed on administrative duty.

The State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the case and will issue a report to Wake County District Attorney Colon Willoughby to determine if Peele violated any criminal laws.

The Raleigh Police Department's Internal Affairs Unit is also conducting an investigation into the shooting. At the conclusion of that investigation, supervisors will determine whether Peele violated any department policies.
