Search Continues For Robbery Suspects, Kidnapping Victim

RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities are still looking for three people after a robbery and chase that started Tuesday night in Raleigh and ended in Durham. There is no sign of the suspects or the victim.

Late Tuesday night, two armed men broke into a house on Dickens Drive near New Bern Avenue and Poole Road, authorities said, and kidnapped another man that was there and then fled the scene in his BMW.

Raleigh police officers spotted the BMW on Capital Boulevard and began following the car, which then led authorities onto the Beltline to Glenwood Avenue and then up to N.C. Highway 98 in Durham.

Speeds reached up to 95 mph before the suspects fled the vehicle with the kidnapping victim at the intersection of

Rochelle and Holloway Streets

in Durham.

Raleigh police identified the kidnapping victim as Jose Ereal Lopez, 25. He was described as a Hispanic male standing 5 feet 8 inches and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a short-sleeve white-collared shirt with blue horizontal stripes and white tennis shoes.

Police have not released descriptions of the suspects.
