LEE COUNTY, N.C. — A Lee County man is in prison after he has been accused of kicking over tombstones at two churches, deputies said Wednesday.
Deputies said Kent Wimbley recently kicked over almost 50 tombstones at two churches in Lee County. He damaged tombstones on at least one other occasion, they said.
Wimbley is being held in Central Prison for evaluation.
Deputies have not said how much it will cost to replace or fix the tombstones.
