RALEIGH, N.C. — A couple with local ties stranded in Mexico is scheduled to leave the area Wednesday.
Pennie Catlett, who lives in Fuquay-Varina, was concerned about her daughter and son-in-law, who were honeymooning in Cancun when Hurricane Wilma hit.
They were supposed to return to the United States the day Wilma came ashore, but they were stranded.
Catlett was able to talk to her daughter over the weekend.
