RALEIGH, N.C. — Two inmates considered armed and dangerous are still on the loose after escaping from a Virginia correctional facility earlier this month, according to authorities.

Authorities believe James Bailey, 39, and Joshua McCaffity, 22, left in a state prison Chevrolet pickup truck after walking away from work duty at the

James River Correctional Facility

Oct. 8.

Virginia State Police said it did not consider the two men a threat at first, but now believe the two broke into a home and stole several items, including three guns.

Bailey is serving four years for possession of cocaine; McCaffity is serving eight years for breaking and entering.
