Wake Forest Teens Charged In Fight At High School

Posted Updated

WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Criminal charges were handed down Thursday against four students who were involved in a fight at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School Wednesday afternoon.

Just after school was dismissed, police said one student hit another student with some type of object during a fight. Some students claimed a gun was used, but investigators said they still could not confirm if the object was a gun.

One student, Donnell Lamont Cannady, whose age was not released, of Timberhook Drive in Raleigh, was charged as an adult with assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a weapon on school grounds.

The other three students' identities were withheld because of the students' ages.

School officials said the fight started when two students ganged up on one student and then another teenager jumped into the fight and pulled out an object.

Wake County school officials said the four students would face disciplinary action from the school district.
