Rest Home Shut Down Because Of Violations

Posted Updated

CUMBERALAND COUNTY, N.C. — State inspectors have shut down a rest home in Cumberland County with a troubled past.

Authorities said Forest Hills Rest Home had a history of violations. Staff members, for example, gave residents the wrong medication half of the time, and at least one of the workers was not qualified to work at the facility.

The 25 residents of Forest Hills have been placed in new homes.

Forest Hills is the third rest home to be closed in the state this year.
