RALEIGH, N.C. — Former Gov. Jim Martin has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Martin spoke about his condition after a fundraiser Monday. He received radiation treatments about two months ago, and said his prognosis looks good.

Martin's father died of the disease.

Martin was the state's only two-term Republican governor. He served from 1985 to 1993.
