Clerk Injured At Convenience Store Improving At Hospital

RALEIGH, N.C. — A convenience store clerk seriously injured two weeks ago is improving.

Francis Chege has been upgraded to fair condition at WakeMed. He had been in a coma for several days.

Chege hit his head on concrete after being assaulted outside his store.

Barry Cross, 19, admitted hitting Chege during an argument. He is in jail on $1 million bond.
