RALEIGH, N.C. — The search is over for a man Raleigh police say kidnapped an elderly man in town for the Senior Games.
Percy Smith is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping.
Police say Smith entered an elderly couple's room at the Super 8 Motel on New Bern Avenue on Sept. 30.
Authorities say Smith stole the couple's money, then ordered the man to drive him around town at gunpoint. No one was injured.
Smith was in custody at the Wake County Jail at the time of his arrest. He had been charged previously with an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery that occurred Sept. 27.
