Butner Clean-Up Delayed Until November

Posted Updated

BUTNER, N.C. — It is going to take a little longer to clean up World War II munitions in Butner.

Work should have started this month, but a hold-up with the U.S. Department of Defense delayed the project until November.

More than 40,000 acres of land near Butner were used for training and housing during World War II.
