Wake Students To Record CD For Hurricane Relief Efforts

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — Some students are using their musical talents to aid with hurricane relief efforts.

Students at Durant Road Elementary School are getting together to record a CD to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The students will be singing and performing to "You Raise Me Up," by Josh Groban as well as a song written by music teacher Terry Dellinger.

Earlier in the year, the students recorded a CD to raise money for victims of the deadly Asian tsunami. So far, the students have been active in other fundraising efforts for hurricane victims, raising more than $1,600.

The school is also organizing an event for the public to purchase the CDs later this year.
