Cumberland County Deputy Killed Last Week Laid To Rest

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — An officer killed while responding to a 911 call Friday was laid to rest Tuesday.

Family and friends held funeral services for Cumberland County deputy Christopher Matthews.

Hundreds of mourners turned out for the service, including officers from other agencies.

Matthews, 26, was responding to a "fighting" call when his car ran off the road and flipped.
