Enjoy Train Ride To N.C. State Fair

RALEIGH, N.C. — Don't let the high gas prices prevent you from going to the

State Fair

. State fair-goers west of the Triangle can ride the Carolinian directly to the N.C. State Fairgrounds.

The Charlotte-Raleigh-New York train will make a special stop each year at the Blue Ridge Road crossing located directly across from the main entrance to the fairgrounds.

For adults, round-trip tickets from Charlotte start at $42, tickets from Greensboro begin at $18. Seniors over age 62 are eligible for a 15 percent discount and kids under age 15 ride for half price.

From Oct. 14-23, the northbound Carolinian (#80) will stop at the fairgrounds at 11 a.m. and the southbound Carolinian (#79) will stop at 4:50 p.m.

Passengers can also purchase State Fair admission tickets on board the train while en route from Greensboro to Raleigh.
