Fayetteville Police Identify Victim In Fatal Hit-And-Run

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating an apparent fatal hit-and-run.

Police said a vehicle ran over a male pedestrian at the intersection of

Ramsey Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard

at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday and kept going.

The victim has been identified as 52-year-old David Ronald Fields. The initial investigation shows Fields was standing in a travel lane on Ramsey Street when the vehicle struck him.

Witnesses describe the vehicle as a tractor-trailer with a light gray or white cab. It is unknown if there was a trailer attached to the vehicle.
