DURHAM, N.C. — North Carolina Central University's recruitment strategies appear to be paying off.
University officials said they have reached their enrollment goal -- five years ahead of schedule.
There are more than 8,200 students at the school, but there are drawbacks to this growth explosion.
Builders are having trouble finding enough space for students.
Last year, the school opened a new dorm to help meet the growing demand.
