N.C. Communities Receive More Funding For Hurricane Isabel Damage

Posted Updated

PAMLICO COUNTY, N.C. — Two communities damaged by Hurricane Isabel will receive an additional $500,000 in grants to help with recovery efforts.

Pamlico County and the town of Ahoskie will split the money, which will be used to create 41 rental units for older residents and pay for 11 families to relocate.

Hurricane Isabel made landfall just south of Cape Hatteras in September of 2003.

The funds are federal grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
