Man Convicted Of Murdering Real Estate Agent

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — A man could spend up to two decades in prison after a Cumberland County jury convicted him of second-degree murder.

James Franklin West admitted he shot Russ Hammonds with a shotgun in December, 2003.

Hammonds, a real estate agent, was found shot to death in his office.

West will get credit for serving nearly two years in jail, awaiting the trial.
