Man Wanted In Durham For Assaulting Female

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a domestic assault that left a female with several broken bones in her face and ruptured blood vessels in her eyes.

Police have charged 20-year-old Deangelo John Ferrell, of

Angier Avenue

, with first-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, assault inflicting serious injury and communicating threats for an assault that happened Friday afternoon inside an apartment on

Ridgeway Avenue

in McDougald Terrace.

The victim, a 21-year-old female, was treated at the hospital for her injuries, police said. They have not released any other information about the assault and whether the victim and suspect knew each other.

Police said Ferrell can be frequently seen in the areas of McDougald Terrace, Damar Court and

South Roxboro Street and Cornwallis Road
