Kenly Police Officer Hit By Car

KENLY, N.C. — A Kenly police officer was flown to UNC Hospitals Friday night after a car hit him, troopers said.
The N.C. Highway Patrol said Sergeant Jerome Willoughby was helping the driver of a tractor-trailer who had stopped on the side of
Truck Stop Road near I-95
when Willoughby was hit by a vehicle driven by Rhonda Dail at about 9 p.m.
Willoughby was flown to UNC Hospitals with serious head injuries, troopers said.
Dail, of Lucama, would not be charged in the accident, troopers said.
