Clayton Cardboard Company Destroyed By Fire To Reopen Early Next Year

Posted Updated

CLAYTON, N.C. — It could be months before 90 workers at a Johnston County cardboard plant get their jobs back.

Fire destroyed most of the major equipment inside the Colonial Carton Company two weeks ago.

The owner of the Clayton business said it will be December or January before the plant is back at full production. In the meantime, some employees are getting temporary unemployment. Others have temporary jobs at other plants.
