Cumberland Deputies Search For Shooting Suspects

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies have issued arrest warrants for two men wanted in connection with an early-morning shooting Saturday in Fayetteville.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said 20-year-old Darrel Wilson and 18-year-old Donald Cradle face charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

The sheriff's office said a deputy was patrolling an area when the deputy reported hearing gunfire at about 2:25 a.m. Saturday.

A group of people then ran toward the deputy's squad car and asked for help.

Witnesses said two men had been shot following an argument while attending a party at

Twenty-three-year-old John Wade Taylor and 17-year-old Wilson Levi Watson were transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Taylor was listed in serious but stable condition following surgery Saturday, and Watson was in stable condition, deputies said.

Deputies also are searching for two other men wanted for questioning about the shooting -- 26-year-old Calvin Beard and another suspect known only as "J.J."
