Downed Power Lines Cause Raleigh Traffic Woes

RALEIGH, N.C. — Downed power lines resulting from a vehicle accident caused traffic problems near a busy Raleigh road early Tuesday afternoon.
Raleigh police said a moving truck struck a utility pole near
Hillsborough Street and Oberlin Road
.
There were no injuries resulting from the wreck, but four people were briefly trapped inside a car when power lines fell across the vehicle. Emergency crews were able to safely remove the passengers.
Progress Energy took about two hours to complete repairs and reopen traffic.
