JACKSON HAMLET, N.C. — A poor town that neighbors Pinehurst may finally get sewer service.
The Moore County manager plans to apply for a federal grant to dig sewer lines in Jackson Hamlet.
The historically black community is just south of the golf resort.
In the past, county leaders said it would cost too much to provide sewer service, police protection and trash pickup for the community.
