Prosecutors Offer Deal On Embezzlement Charges To Husband Of Slain Durham Mother

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Prosecutors offered the husband of a homicide victim a plea deal on embezzlement charges.

Raven Abaroa is accused of taking thousands of dollars from the business where he and his wife worked. Officials have not said if Abaroa wants the deal.

In April, Durham police found Janet Abaroa stabbed to death in her home. Her 6-month-old son was there, but not hurt.

Police have not made an arrest in the case, but they insist the slaying was not a random crime.
