The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office say 29-year-old Takish Bauermeister was injured shortly after 6 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Rug Ratz Day Care Center on Cliffdale Road.
Bauermeister, who is a Fort Bragg soldier assigned to the Army's 525th Military Intelligence Brigade, told deputies she had signed her children in to the day care center and had returned to her vehicle when the attack occurred.
Bauermeister was transported to Womack Army Medical Center where she is receiving treatment to a laceration on her left cheek. Her condition is not yet known.
Details about the suspect have not yet been released.
