<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Northampton County has a big stake in final negotiations of the state budget.

The House version of the budget proposes $7.5 million to help build an automotive testing and research facility.

The proposed location is a 1,000-acre site on Interstate 95 near Garysburg.

The research facility would create 250 jobs and add 450 more jobs in a few years.
