RALEIGH, N.C. — The University of North Carolina system's next president could earn a little more money than the current one.
A consultant for the search committee suggests offering $500,000 for the position.
Current UNC President Molly Broad makes a little more than $300,000. Broad has managed the 16-campus system for nearly a decade. She announced in April she's stepping down at the end of the next academic year.
The search committee hopes to have a salary range in place by August when they plan to start advertising the position.
