Police Investigate Two Carjackings In North Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are investigating two carjackings that occurred over the weekend in North Raleigh. Police are not sure if the carjackings are related.

The first carjacking happened at about 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Walden Woods condominiums off of Atlantic Avenue.

Marcia Howard said a young man put a gun to her head and asked for her car keys.

Police officers found Howard's car in the parking lot of the Carmike 15 movie theater, which is located on Atlantic Springs Road.

One suspect was arrested, and two others ran.

The second carjacking happened around noon on Saturday at the Raleigh IcePlex, located on Raleigh Boulevard.

The victim said two young men demanded her keys, and one of the suspects had a gun.

Police recovered the victim's car near the Raleigh IcePlex.
