JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — As her daughter watched, a Johnston County woman died early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle driven by an underage drunk driver, the N.C. Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Alejandro Garduno's vehicle crossed the centerline and hit Brenda Alonso as she and her daughter walked down N.C. 96, just outside of Four Oaks.
The girl was not injured, troopers said.
Garduno, 20, has been charged with a DWI, driving without a license and involuntary manslaughter.
