A woman and a teenage boy were shot at the Travel Lodge on Cedar Creek Rd in Fayetteville shortly after 10pm. Multiple police cars remain on scene. No suspect in custody. Investigation underway.

Greensboro police issued an Amber Alert on Thursday for Kayson Osiah Monk, 9 months, who is believed to be with Deon Lamar Monk, 23. Police did not say how the two are related.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Preliminary tests suggest a Fayetteville neighborhood's groundwater is not making residents sick.

Health officials tested soil and water from the Broadell Homes community after some residents reported an increase in cancer cases.

Officials found no problems with the water.

Scientists stress the results are preliminary. They plan to conduct more thorough tests.
