RALEIGH, N.C. — A controversial job appointment does not appear to be working out for a former state lawmaker.
Michael Decker's tourism position in Forsyth County is not funded in either the House or Senate budgets.
Decker got the job with the help of Democrat Jim Black, who became House co-speaker in 2003 after Decker switched parties.
Decker later returned to the GOP, but lost his race.
