RALEIGH, N.C. — A former cafeteria manager has admitted to stealing more than $200,000 from a Garner high school.

Frances Parker, 36, of Garner, turned herself into authorities Wednesday for embezzling $217,000 from the Garner Senior High School cafeteria program.

Originally hired by Wake County Schools in 1998, Parker worked at Garner Senior High School from August 2000 until February of this year.

Parker has agreed to pay back the money she confessed to taking and said no one else was involved.

School officials became aware of problems with the cafeteria's bookkeeping in February.

Parker bonded out of the Wake County Jail Wednesday night.
